Training and your business

It has never been harder to make a profit in the tourism industry. There is more legislation and more pressures on our margins than ever before. However, it has probably never been easier to access training – whether for managers or for staff. The trouble is, there are so many training providers and courses to choose from, where do you start? Who are the good providers? Which are the best courses? In the CCTF, we do not have all the answers – of course we don’t. However, we talk continually with the colleges, the Tourism Skills Network (TSN) and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and we have a fairly good idea of what courses and help are out there. The TSN in particular has been set up to facilitate appropriate training for our industry. Through the newsletter and this website we will try to keep you in touch with relevant training for our industry – tourism. If you hear of any courses that we should know about, or if you know of any ‘rogues’ out there, please let us know.
